Dr. Michael Silverstein graduated from Brandeis University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and Psychology.  He then attended medical school at Robert Wood Johnson (now Rutgers) Medical School in New Jersey.  After graduating in 2004, he completed his internal medicine internship and neurology residency training at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.  His training then continued at New York University’s Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, where he completed his Epilepsy/EEG fellowship in 2009.  Upon completion of his fellowship, he joined Hackensack Neurology Group.  He is licensed to practice medicine in the state of New Jersey, and is board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Silverstein maintains an active and diverse general neurology practice.  He cares for patients with a broad spectrum of neurologic illnesses including migraine, epilepsy, stroke, movement disorders, memory loss, and others.  Additionally, Dr. Silverstein performs therapeutic Botox injections for the treatment of chronic migraine headaches.

Dr. Silverstein has been an invited guest lecturer on topics including stroke, epilepsy, neurovascular disease, and ethical dilemmas related to neurologic illness.   He has been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2014, and has been fortunate enough to receive honors through the past several years from publications including Jersey’s Best Magazine, NJ Monthly, Bergen Magazine, and Vitals.com.
