Symptom Onset & Initial Evaluation

Biopsies are typically recommended when:

  • Imaging reveals a lesion that is suspicious for cancer
  • Cancer staging is required
  • A definitive diagnosis is needed to guide treatment

Diagnosis

The biopsy approach is selected based on the location of the lesion may involve:

  • Ultrasound guidance
  • CT guidance
  • MRI or fluoroscopic guidance in select cases

Treatment Guidance & Management

During the procedure:

  • A small needle is guided precisely to the target
  • Tissue samples are obtained safely
  • Most patients return home the same day
